About the Role

We’re looking to employ a Land Development Manager into our team, who will report to and work closely with our Terra General Manager. You’ll be based in our Auckland office, surrounded by talented, down-to-earth colleagues who all have a passion for delivering exceptional service to our clients.

This position entails assisting the General Manager to manage the civil engineering team and carry out general engineering services within Terra Consultants. You will need to be a Chartered Engineer or be on a pathway to become a Chartered Engineer within a relatively short period of time. You will report directly to the General Manager.

You will be assisting with managing the Land Development team in meeting current targets and project workload goals through applying your experience and skills, and the effective utilisation of the Company’s resources. Your role will be based heavily on the use of your knowledge as an Engineering and Business Professional. Your strong interpersonal skills allow you to liaise with other professional disciplines on projects, project manage projects, project elements, discuss project issues and status, and be involved in solutions for projects with Clients and management. It will be important to build strong relationships within the whole company including the other subsidiaries of Terra Group NZ Limited, such as Hamilton and Christchurch.

In addition to the technical demands, there are requirements within this role to also understand and monitor financial information. This will require you to have the ability to forecast forward workloads and put in place effective resource planning strategies to meet current and forward workload requirements.

You will have the full support of the Terra Consultancy administration team so that you are empowered to efficiently plan and implement business strategies for the sustainable growth of the company.

Requirements

Your ideal experience and attributes include:


  • Proven work in a senior-level role, with supervision/managerial experience;

  • We are looking for a Chartered Engineer or someone that is on the pathway to becoming a Chartered engineer within a relatively short period of time;

  • Experience with 12D Synergy, Document Management System would be advantageous

  • A minimum of 15 years civil engineering experience;

  • Experience in a lead role as Engineer to Contract and Construction Supervision;

  • Interested in working holistically across a land development project with other in-house disciplines;

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • To contribute to the sustainable growth of Terra Group NZ Ltd by the successful introduction of new clients and projects to the business;

  • To assist the Management Team to create resourcing strategies to meet current and future workloads within the business;

  • To operate as a team leader of staff to be assigned to you and provide leadership and mentoring to junior members of the team;

  • Other general duties as directed by the Director.
